Directions

Bad Gastein is located at 1000m above sea level in the heart of Europe in the Salzburg Alps, Austria. It is easy and convenient to reach via the motorway and state routes.

Bad Gastein has a central train station with Euro- and Intercity, and express trains from Italy, Germany, Austria and Switzerland stopping at the Bad Gastein train station.

The Tauernschleuse (Tauern Railway Tunnel) is a fast connection towards Carinthia and Italy. Venice can be reached in about 3 hours .

The airports of Salzburg and Klagenfurt, which are served by many low-cost airlines are about 1 to 1.5 hours by train or car. Munich Airport is approximately 2.5 hours by car.

By Car

The Kaiser Wilhelm Promenade is car-free, so no GPS navigation system leads to Kaiser Wilhelm Promenade 3. Please enter: Bismarckstrasse 11

From Germany:
Take the A8 direction Bad Reichenhall / Walserberg, direction Salzburg. After passing the border crossing Walserberg turn right on the A10 / E 55 – direction Villach to the exit Bischofshofen / Gasteinertal. Drive on the B 311 towards St. Johann / Pongau towards Innsbruck / Zell am See. In Lend, turn left onto the B167 and head towards Gasteinertal / Villach / Bad Gastein.From Carinthia:
From the south via Villach, Möllbrücke and Obervellach to Mallnitz and from there with the Tauernschleuse Bad Gastein. www.gasteinertal.com

In Bad Gastein:
Immediately at Bismarckstrasse 11 (House Schider) there is a parking lot in the curve. From there it is only about 100 meters to KWP3. So, directly opposite the parking lot follow a narrow path up the hill with signs for „Café SChuh“ or “Hirschen“. Follow that path (despite the no entry sign, you as guest of KWP3 have permission) all the way up the last steep section. Upon reaching the promenade you are exactly at KWP3 with a parking lot on the left to unload. Parking is not allowed here – please park your car at your private parking lot down at Bismarckstrasse 11. Each apartment has their own designated parking lot with a sign of the apartment.

By Train

The Tauernschleuse (Tauern Railway Tunnel) is a fast connection towards Carinthia and Italy. Venice can be reached in about 3 hours ..

By Plane

There are excellent international connections to the airports Salzburg W. A. Mozart (1.15 h), Klagenfurt (1.5 hrs) and Munich (3 hrs). Various taxi companies offer airport shuttles to Bad Gastein. Also direct trains from Salzburg run every 2h. Please contact us for more information.
